A free examination by a doctor specializing in dermatology or cosmetic surgery should be scheduled if you notice any changes on the fibroma such as the appearance of scabs or sores, enlargement of the fibroma, pain to the touch or inflammation.

Based on the examination, our doctor assesses whether it is necessary to remove fibroids using the radio wave technique with the laser method with MANDATORY pathohistological analysis.

Of course, it is possible to schedule the removal of fibroids for aesthetic reasons or if they are located at the point of friction.

What are fibroids?

Fibroids are very common benign growths, with slow growth. They appear as single or multiple growths on the skin, and they are present in about half of the world’s population. They are made of collagen fibers and spindle cells.

The number of fibroids increases with age.

Where do fibroids most often occur?

They appear in the head area.

  • on the skin of the eyelids,
  • door,
  • on the hull and
  • fold regions – armpits and groin.

What do fibroids look like?

They are round or oval in shape, clearly demarcated from the surroundings. Most often, they are attached to the base with a narrow stalk (fibroma pendulum), and sometimes they have a wide base. They also contain blood vessels, i.e. the vascular component.

Size of fibroid

The size is from several millimeters to several centimeters in diameter – giant fibroids.

Consistency of fibroma

They can be hard (fibroma durum) or soft (fibroma molle).

The hard variant of fibroids consists of more collagen fibers, while the soft ones contain less collagen.

What color are fibroids?

On the trunk, the color of the fibroma is slightly darker than the surrounding skin.

They are usually bruised or hyperpigmented in the groin and armpit area.

How to recognize a fibroma?

Patients may confuse them with moles, warts or keratoses. That’s why an examination by a specialist doctor is recommended. In case there is a change in the skin, it is recommended to consult a specialist in order to determine what type of change is involved.

What is the difference between fibroids and moles?

Soft and smaller fibromas can easily be mistaken for classic dermal moles, but the main difference is the softness. Also, they have the aforementioned stalk, are smooth and lack pigmentation like dermal moles.

Certainly, a dermoscopic examination by a specialist doctor at the Diva Polyclinic will clearly define which change we are talking about.

What are the causative factors of fibroids?

They most often occur in middle age, and can be congenital or acquired.

Predisposition for the formation of fibroids can be

  • obesity,
  • hormonal imbalance,
  • chronic irritation and
  • genetic predisposition.

While some recent research has revealed the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6 and 11 in the changes.

Are fibroids dangerous?

Fibroids usually do not tend to develop into malignant diseases.

Is fibroid removal recommended?

Fibroids can be removed for functional or aesthetic reasons.

Removal of fibroids - why should they be treated vigorously?

Removing fibroids prevents their further spread on the skin because in some cases the presence of a virus has been proven.

The functional reason for removing fibroids is to injure or twist them, which causes pain and bleeding. In the passes, especially in the warm months, itching, irritation and secondary infection can occur.

The aesthetic aspect of the treatment is also very important, as their removal restores healthy skin without growths.

Diagnosis

The diagnosis is simple, although they can look like warts and moles, and is based on the clinical picture, objective examination and pathohistological findings.

Larger fibroids should be sent for PH analysis to check the fibroid cells under a microscope and rule out the presence of tumor cells.

What are the methods for removing fibroids?

Common treatment methods are laser removal or radio wave method.

Removal of fibroids with radio waves

Based on extensive studies conducted both in the world and in our country, the radio wave method has shown a high degree of effectiveness for removing fibroids – the cure rate is 97%.

In addition to efficiency, the radio wave method also gives an excellent aesthetic result, as fibroids are completely removed with just one intervention lasting 30 seconds, painlessly, and with barely noticeable scars.

In just 15 minutes it is possible to leave 30 changes. The patients themselves are satisfied with the use of radio waves.

Removal is simple and comfortable with the use of anesthesia in the form of a cream.

Removal of fibroids on the eyelids using the radio wave method

For changes on the eyelids, radio waves are also ideal because it is a proven method for the region around the eyes, and it is extremely comfortable with the use of an anesthetic in the form of a cream.

What does fibroid removal look like at the Diva Polyclinic?

First, the specialist doctor examines the fibroma by clinical examination and dermoscopic technique.

When it is established that a benign growth is a fibroma, anesthesia is given to the region where it is located. It is a local anesthesia in the form of a cream.

After that, the fibroma is removed using the radio wave technique.

Does fibroid removal hurt?

During the intervention, there may be a slight burning sensation, but nothing more than that, considering that an anesthetic in the form of a cream is applied beforehand.

Does removing fibroids with radio waves leave a scar?

After removal, an extremely small wound remains at the site of the fibroid. After the scab falls off, a barely visible scar remains.

Is there a recovery period after the treatment for the removal of fibroids using the radio wave method?

No, patients can easily return to their daily activities immediately after the removal of fibroids with radio waves. After the intervention, the patient is recommended to use antibiotic powder or antibiotic ointment for a few days.

How long does fibroid removal take?

About 30 seconds.

How to choose a doctor for fibroid removal?

You can experience unpleasant experiences with radio waves only if the procedure is performed by doctors without the necessary knowledge and experience. Of course, for an experienced radio wave surgeon, these are very simple interventions, regardless of the size or location of the fibroma. That is why it is important to choose a doctor carefully.

Removal of fibroids - price including pathohistological analysis

The cost of removing fibroids using the radio wave method is from 80 to 120 euros in dinars and includes the MANDATORY sending for pathohistological analysis.

If 5 or more fibroids are removed, at the Diva polyclinic we grant a discount, so the price per growth is 60 euros in dinars.

For prices for removing other skin changes, see our PRICE LIST.

NOTE:

Whether radio waves are an adequate method for removing fibroids will be assessed by a specialist doctor during a free consultation.

The results of the procedure may vary from patient to patient, and this is influenced by factors such as skin type, i.e. whether it is prone to scar tissue formation.
