What are condylomas?
Condylomas are warty growths on the skin of the genital regions caused by human papillomaviruses.
Where do they occur most often?
Condylomas, known as genital warts, most often appear in the genital area.
What are the symptoms of condyloma?
Condylomas in men
Genital warts (condylomas) in men most often appear on the genital organ itself, and they can spread further on the skin of the groin region.
HPV virus infection initially manifests itself as red dots, and then the appearance of minor or major changes above the surface of the skin or mucous membrane of different appearance.
Condylomas in men most often appear as:
- small and flattened growths on the genital region,
- as well as whitish or pink or cauliflower-like changes.
What do condylomas look like? How to recognize them?
Condylomas are pink or whitish skin changes, they are smooth or uneven, flat or spiky.
They can be in the form of flat hard-to-see papules or mushroom- or cauliflower-shaped with a narrower or wider base of normal skin color to dark brown.
What are the colors of genital warts?
Condylomas can be normal skin color up to dark brown. Patients therefore often confuse them with moles, other warts or keratoses. That is why it is recommended to visit a specialist doctor who will give an accurate diagnosis.
Condylomas most often appear as:
- whitish or pink changes in cauliflower texture,
- rough slaty changes in brown color,
- soft and pointed warts, usually light pink to red in color,
- individually or as groups of cauliflower-like growths,
and the most common localizations are:
- groin,
- external genitalia,
- vaginal entrance,
- vaginal mucosa,
- perineum,
- anus.

What are the causative factors of condylomas? What causes warts?
HPV – human papilloma viruses (of which there are more than 130 types) have been proven to cause condyloma, and the most common types are types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 32, 33 and 35.
How are condylomas transmitted?
The human papilloma virus is spread sexually, so genital warts should be removed as soon as possible.
Infection with this virus is transmitted through direct contact, through sexual contact.
How long does it take for warts to appear - what is the incubation period?
The time from contact to the appearance of condyloma is 2 to 6 months.
They usually appear in the first 3 months, but they often appear after several years.
Can warts spread to other regions?
Given that they are of viral origin, there is a possibility of independent spread throughout the body from one place to another (autoinoculation) and of transmitting the virus to other people through sexual contact.
Why should condylomas be vigorously treated? Why is condyloma removal important?
Removal of condylomas is the only way to prevent their further spread on the skin of the affected person, as well as their transmission to other people through sexual contact. That is why it is recommended to remove condylomas as soon as they are noticed.
When is it necessary to remove condylomas?
It is recommended that they be removed as soon as they are diagnosed, because it is the HPV virus that is able to spread very quickly and lead to far greater complications. In addition to aesthetics, neglecting them can lead to far more serious health problems.

Treatment methods are:
- radio wave method

- surgical intervention.
The method that gives the best results for the removal of condylomas is radio waves

That’s why at the Diva polyclinic, specialist doctors use exactly that method to remove condylomas.

Condylomas are removed with only one intervention.
By applying radio waves, the entire tissue change is removed in one intervention.

More than 20 changes can be removed in just 10 minutes.
Is the removal of condyloma with the radio wave technique a painful process?
Removal is simple and comfortable with the use of anesthesia in the form of a cream.
How to prepare for the treatment of condyloma with radio wave technique?
Before the radio wave intervention itself, no special preparation of the patient is required.
The procedure itself begins with a specialist examination in order for the specialist doctor to establish a diagnosis, i.e. whether the changes on the skin are really condylomas. The procedure can be performed immediately afterwards.
What does the procedure for removing condylomas with radio waves look like?
What is the recovery procedure after treatment?
The recovery period is easy and after the intervention of condyloma removal with radio waves, the patient quickly returns to daily activities.
How to behave after the removal of condyloma?
After removal of the condyloma, regular check-ups with the doctor are advised.
This is extremely important in order to monitor the further condition and spot the possible recurrence of condyloma in time.
What about other ways to remove warts?
Laser removal of condyloma
We do not use this method at the Diva Polyclinic because radio waves have proven to be a more advanced technique in practice.
Surgical removal of condyloma
Surgical treatment of condyloma is used in giant condylomatous growths, when the diameter of the base is greater than 1 cm.
Does removal of the condyloma mean that the patient is cured?
Although the removal of condyloma with radio waves implies the removal of all changes, this does not mean that they cannot appear again.
Condylomas are caused by the HPV virus, which means that they behave like all other viruses – they remain present in the body. There is no cure for viral infections like the HPV virus. Which means that once they manifest, there is a possibility of reappearance.
What can trigger the recurrence of condyloma?
There are several factors, some of which may be:
- immune system decline,
- immunodeficiency,
- stress,
- pregnancy,
- some other disease.
What to do if you suspect condylomas?
In such a situation, it is recommended to visit a specialist doctor in order to establish a precise diagnosis and start treatment on time.
How to choose a doctor for condyloma treatment?
For an experienced radio wave surgeon, these are very simple interventions regardless of size or location, so it is recommended that you choose your doctor carefully.
